Ubuntu 101, Project "alice-Inspiron-519"
The name of my project is alice-Inspiron-519
I have been able to install Ubuntu 10.10 on a second partition of a Dell Inspiron, from a bootable CD with Ubuntu 10.10 ISO image.
This tool is important, for any hacker agent. The image should be put on a Compact Disk, not a DVD and not initially on a Universal Serial Bus thumb-drive.
The reason for this is that the Compact Disk is the lowest common denominator and offers the greatest possibility of accessing any given machine. Some older computers may or may not have a Universal Serial Bus thumb-drive port available or is simply unable to boot from a Universal Serial Bus device since there is no option in the BIOS also know as the Basic Input Output System. Other older units may only have Compact Disk drive and not Compact Disk/DVD combo drives
Project alice-Inspiron-519, is a simple proof of concept project, to build Uber systems, comparable to Windows 7 and Mac OSX, without the price tag.
Linux is a way of thinking as much as it is a Operating System. In a real sense a hacker will have to learn to get the best use of the machine is to know how and why it works the way it does.
