Pechenga Poker $2/$4
Limmit Bankroll: $40
---------------------------
I got there and it was a wait.
I scoped the players, no known faces. But a few recognizable faces among the employees of Pechanga.
I watched for about 20 minutes before a table of 9 players was formed.
It was a grind connecting pairs came left and right, along with suited cards, but I was catching none of it.
The only hands I won with modest size pots where, bluffs and split pots. I was grinded out despite playing my absolute best.
$40 only gave me 6 rounds/cycles of blinds. I started at 100% dropped to 25% Bumped to 50% but was not catching cards and I was grinded.
What I did Right
Played only medium to good hands, along with suited connectors.
What I did Wrong
It was not my night. When I had to bluff just to win $20, half of my original chip stack slowly diminished after grinding away against the blinds. Should have walked away, to fight another day.
Lesson Learned:
Although there is officially no time to quit playing poker, virtually any two cards have even probability of being the best hand, even 3-7 off suite.
One needs to be at their sharpest at the tables. Your chips are soldiers in your war, each one, even the very last one, keeps you in play. With a chance to seize a pot.
Quit when you feel like you’re losing your edge.
Remember, poker is a 0 balance game. Play long enough, you will eventually lose all your gains*.
