The Hackintosh Guide

Hackintosh computers are non-apple computers that run OSX.

Since I have always been a Linux guy, a Hackintosh was a logical leap for me.   Apple is solid in its art and design of its OSX.   Even their hardware is of good quality (but at a premium).

In short, you will be unable to get into a legitimate copy of OSX for under $1500.   Where as a good PC laptop is about $1000.

A good PC laptop (with an Intel chipset) is able to run Windows (of course), Linux and OSX.   You can triple partition and install all Operating Systems on the "metal" as it where.

Some interesting finds on the subject can be found here and here
